Martin E. Restituyo is the founder of the firm. He is a graduate of Queens College (B.A., Triple Major: Political Science, Latin American Studies, and Anthropology, 1998), Hofstra University School of Law (J.D. 2002), and Hofstra University, Frank G. Zarb School of Business (M.B.A., Finance, 2005). Mr. Restituyo also did postgraduate work at the Universidad Autonoma de Santo Domingo, Santo Domingo, in the Dominican Republic, and studied at the Faculte de Droit de l’Universite de Nice, in Nice, France. In 2003, he was awarded the “Distinguished Alumni Award” from Hofstra University’s Clinical Program.
Prior to opening his own firm, Mr. Restituyo worked at Wolf Haldenstein Adler Freeman & Herz LLP where, from 2006 through 2013, he focused on securities and class action litigation. During that period Mr. Restituyo was named a “Rising Star” by Super Lawyers Magazine in 2011 and 2012. In 2013 Mr. Restituyo was named a “Super Lawyer” by Super Lawyer Magazine., and has held that standing ever since. Prior to joining Wolf Haldenstein, Mr. Restituyo served as an Assistant Town Attorney for the Town of North Hempstead, in Nassau County, New York and taught legal writing at John Jay College of Criminal Justice.
Mr. Restituyo is admitted to practice in New York and in the Federal Courts for the Southern District of New York, the Eastern District of New York and the Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals. Mr. Restituyo is fluent in English and Spanish and has an array of clients from the United States and Latin America.
Outside of work, Mr. Restituyo serves on the Board of the Dominican Bar Association and Fundacion Universidad Autonoma de Santo Domingo en los Estados Unidos Inc. He previously served on Community Board 12 Manhattan, and the Board of Alianza Dominicana Inc.
